AGP urges Centre to institute inquiry against Gogoi
Guwahati, Jan 11 (PTI) Asom Gana Parishad PresidentChandramohan Patowary today urged the Centre to inquire intothe allegations by a rights activist that Chief Minister TarunGogoi''s family members had allegedly used public money toacquire property in the USA.
"Pending inquiry we also demand that either the chiefminister should be asked by the Centre like in Maharashtra torelinquish office immediately or appropriate action shouldbe taken to dismiss the present state government," Patowarysaid after submitting a memorandum to Governor J B Patnaikhere.
Patowary also alleged that the recent ethnic clasheson the Assam-Meghalaya border has exposed the chief minister''s''failure''.
He also said that had not visited the affected areasand demanded relief materials for those affected.
