Hyderabad, Jan 7: Home Minster P Chidambaram presented the Srikrishna committee report on Jan 6. The report suggested United Andhra Pradesh is the best way forward. But the pro-Telangana leaders said that they are not ready to compromise on Telangana.

"The people of Telangana are not prepared to accept anything short of Telangana state and Hyderabad as its capital," Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao said.

"I honestly appeal to Prime Minister of India don't dither or dilly dally on the issue. Please come forward, keep your promise which you made on Dec 10 in the floor of the House and commitment given on Dec 9," KCR said.

"Telangana people won't trust. They did nothing for us in the last 60 years. Even if you sanction crores of budget to this region, nothing will happen till we are ruled by Andhra leaders," said Rajalingam Naik, a resident of Karimnagar

The committee report has put Congress in trouble. In 2009, Lok Sabha election, the Congress bagged 33 out of 42 MP seats. Among that 12 MPs are from Telangana region, 15 are from Coastal Andhra Pradesh and rest five are from Rayalaseema. The pro-Telangana MPs have already expressed their desire to resign if their demand is not met.
