Government to reveal Telangana's final fate today

However, all key Opposition parties like Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), BJP decided to boycott the meeting organised by the central government on Jan 6.
Sources informed that the committee's report, on the demand for statehood for Telanagna, has not indicated whether Andhra Pradesh should be separated. However, the report has presented the pros and cons of different options.
On Jan 5, during a meeting between Telangana MPs and Congress leaders, the central government clarified that the issue should not be treated as final as it was for the government to take a decision irrespective of the recommendations in the Srikrishna report.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy stated, "We are prepared, there is no division."
Citing the tensed situation in Andhra Pradesh, security has been beefed up in all the three regions - coastal Andhra, Telangana and Rayalaseema. Around 5,000 CRPF, BSF and CISF personnel have been posted in the state, with close to 2,000 only in Hyderabad.
