Nifty came down by 77 points.
At 5.04 hrs, BSE Sensex was 19,981.31 up 14.38 points and NSE Nifty was 5,992.25 down 0.55 points.
The most active in trading were Tata Motors,Tata Steel.
The top gainers were Tata Motors up 3.28 percent, Tata Steel up 3.34 percent, Jindal Steel up 2.82 percent and Sterlite Ind up 3.56 percent.
The top losers were Hero Honda down 3.52 percent, Reliance Comm down 2.83 percent, SBI 3.86 percent and PNB down 3.69 percent.

Nifty opens on strong note, above 6k
Buying in oil & gas exploration, metal, technology, telecom and select financial companies' shares helped benchmark Nifty to gain in the opening trades.
The Nifty was trading above 6000 level and BSE Sensex above 20000 mark.
Sterlite Industries, Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Tata Steel, JSPL, ONGC, Reliance Industries, Hindalco, SAIL, HUL, ICICI Bank, HDFC and IDFC were on buyers' radar.
At 10.10 hrs, BSE Sensex was 20,174.95 up 208.02 points and NSE Nifty was 6,056.00 up 63.20 points.
The most active in trading were Tata Steel, Tata Motors, SBI, Jindal Steel.
The top gainers were Tata Steel up 3.76 percent, Suzlon Energy up 3.68 percent, Hindalco up 3.51 percent and Tata Motors up 3.43 percent.
