Sarkozy says he is great admirer of Dr. Manmohan Singh

Bangalore, Dec.4 (ANI): French President Nicolas Sarkozy said on Saturday that he is a great admirer of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh who is committed to peace, development and eradication of poverty in the country.

Addressing over 500 scientists, captains of industry and students at the Indian Space Research Origination (ISRO) here, Sarkozy said whenever the Prime Minister meets him he talks about his commitments.

"If India succeeded in these goals, it would rub-off on the entire world," said Sarkozy.

Noting that development and environment protection can go hand-and-hand, Sarkozy said: "Let's not get embroiled in vain and sterile North-South debate."

The French President said France will take over the rotating presidency of G 20 this month and would come out with innovative financing for India for sustainable development vis-a-vis environment protection. (ANI)
