Women are respected more in Pak than India: Report

New Delhi, Nov 6: According to recent United Nations Development Programme(UNDP) report, a higher percentage of women in Pakistan feel they are treated with respect than compared to Indian women.

The report says, 81 percent women in Pakistan are treated with dignity as compared to 79 percent in India. Even Bangladesh has scored 86 better than India on this index.

However, on the basis of perceptions of individual well-being and happiness India scored the highest point with the index that was measured on a scale of 0-10.

The report showed that India scored 5.5 in overall life satisfaction, Pakistan scored 5.4, Bangladesh 5.3, Nepal 5.3 and Sri Lanka 4.7.

When referred to job satisfaction, Sri Lanka gets the highest percentage of 86 followed by Nepal with 80 percent, 76 percent in Bangladesh and 77 percent in Pakistan,and only 74 percent people in India who are employed said they were satisfied

India ranks 119 on the Human Development Index (HDI) among 169 countries, the report said.
