Mumbai: Auto driver burns police, detained

Mumbai, Oct 28: After violating the traffic rules, an outraged auto-rickshaw driver torched a police constable and was finally detained in Mumbai on Oct 27.

Police sources informed that the constable, Anil Aitodekar charged fine from Mahendra Kevat, the auto driver for not following traffic norms.

Enraged over this, Kevat went to the constable in the evening on Oct 27 and poured kerosene and set him ablaze on the road.

The victim, who suffered 50 percent burnt, was taken to a nearby hospital and was undergoing treatment.
