Mamata Banerjee
Kolkata, Oct 25: Following the present rowing situation in the state, Trinamool Congress chief, Mamata Banerjee on Oct 24 demanded President rule in West Bengal.

"We have not said anything so far (to the Centre), but the situation is fit for President's rule," claimed Banerjee.

Attacking CPI(M), she also added, "The State government should be sacked. It is definite that the people will ultimately sack it."

According The Hindu, the Railway Minister also blamed the state government by saying, "CPI(M) activists were misusing the joint operations against Maoists in the Jangal Mahal region by wearing the uniforms of the local police and the central forces to spread terror."

However, CPI(M) leader, Biman Bose slammed Mamata over her statement and stated, "Let her discuss it with the Centre. People of West Bengal have seen the promulgation of Article 356 before. They are not afraid of it."
