Sisters gangraped, J'khand STF cop among 6 accused

Bhabhua (Jharkhand), Oct 19: In yet another case of protectors turning predators, a Jharkhand's special task force (STF) police personnel was one among the six people accused in gangrape of two sisters.

Speaking on the incident the police on Monday, Oct 18 said that the incident took place in the block development office premises in Mohania police circle area in Bihar's Kaimur district.

"The girls were waiting for a bus at a bus stop at Mohania last night (Sunday, Oct 17) when the accused, including the Jharkhand STF policeman Ranjeet Singh, took them to an isolated place and raped them," Deputy Superintendent of Police (SP) Pankaj Sinha said, adding that the victims have lodged a complaint against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

"The three other accused have been identified as Dharmendra Ram, Rakesh Sahu, Baru Gupta," Sinha said.

Identities of two other accused are yet to be identified.
