Bing offers search result from Facebook pages

California, Oct 14: Two giants joined hand to beat another giant! Microsoft has partnered with world's most popular social networking website Facebook to give more accurate Web search results on Microsoft's internet search engine Bing.

The new feature on Bing will show the Websites and links 'liked' by a Facebook user"s friends. If the user is searching in Bing for 'Sachin Tendulkar', users friends" Facebook profile images will appear next to certain results. It will enable the user to lean on friends to figure out the best Websites for their search.

Also, Facebook Profile Search, factors into searches for specific people. If the user is searching for a particular name, 'Rahul', Bing will leverage a user"s Facebook connections to deliver more relevant results.

"Those with whom you have mutual friends will now show up first. Bing is also making more prominent the ability to add these people as friends on Facebook directly from Bing," describes Facebook Blog.

The new social-search features will launch in United States in few days. Microsoft is planning to gain more shares in search engine market which is dominated by Google.
