Tata & Reliance to bring CDMA iPhone to India?
The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple is holding talks with Tata Teleservices and Reliance Communications to introduce the CDMA iPhone on their networks.
Currently GSM iPhone is available in India through Bharti AirTel and Vodafone. But recently rumors mounted in gadget market that Apple is planning to make CDMA version of iPhones. The CDMA version also allows Apple to work with Verizon Wireless, the largest cell phone operator in the US.
India is considered as one of the fast growing mobile market in the world. India"s mobile handsets sales in the second quarter of 2010 saw the number of cell phones purchased reach a whopping 38.63 million, a 6.3 percent increase on the previous quarter.
