Nifty ends on 32-month high, at 6233

The Sensex closed at 20687, up 484 points and the Nifty was at 6233, up 143 points.
HDFC, TCS, Wipro, Jaiprakash Asso were among the top gainers with 4.50 percent, 4.43 percent, 4.30 percent, 4.26 percent up
respectively.
However, NTPC and Cipla were among the top losers with 1.07 percent, 0.04 percent down respectively.

NSE Nifty touches 6200 mark
After witnessing a consolidation for past few days, NSE Nifty touched 6200 mark on Oct 13.
The shares of the companies like technology, oil & gas, financial, FMCG and capital goods were among the leading sectors.
However, Cairn India and NTPC were under selling pressure.
At 1:40 pm, the 50-share NSE Nifty was trading at 6200, up 109 points and the 30-share BSE; Sensex was at 20560, up 357 points. The Nifty Oct 2010 futures were trading at 36 points premium.
Heavyweights like Reliance Industries, ONGC, HDFC, ITC, SBI, L&T, HDFC Bank, HUL, DLF, ICICI Bank and BHEL moved up 1-4 percent.

Sensex gains 300 pts; IT surges
The benchmark indices continued their uptrend on strong trading in technology ahead of the numbers for the quarter ended Sep 2010.
While Nifty is moving towards 6,200 mark with over 80 points gain, Sensex also followed the suit with over 300 points gain.
At 12:20 pm, BSE Sensex was at 20,518.04, up 314.70 points, and NSE Nifty was at 6182.10, up 91.20 points.
In the IT sector, TCS surged 2.9 per cent, and Wipro and HCL Tech went up 1.2 per cent. Infosys gained 1.65 per cent ahead of numbers expected to be announced on Friday, Oct 15.
Among the heavyweights, Reliance Industries and ONGC gained 1 to 1.7 per cent. ITC, HUL, HDFC and HDFC Bank went up 1.4 to 3 per cent while BHEL, L&T, SBI and ICICI Bank gained 0.5 to 0.9 per cent.
In the auto sector, Tata Motors and Maruti gained 1.9 to 2.5 per cent.
However, on the negative side, NTPC and Cairn India were down.

Mkts open marginally +ve on support from Asia
After suffering the effects of dismal IIP numbers for Aug 2010 on Tuesday, Oct 12, the markets have opened the day on a slightly positive side with help from Asian markets.
At 9:01 am, BSE Sensex was trading at 20271, up 68 points and NSE Nifty was at 6107, up 16.5 points. The CNX Midcap was trading at 9445, up 47 points.
The indices, however, were trading amid volatility.
Buying interest was seen in frontliners such as Bharti, ONGC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti, Bajaj Auto, Jaiprakash Associates, Hindalco, Sterlite Industries, Reliance Capital, Reliance Power, SAIL, HUL and Ambuja Cements.
The new listing for the day, VA Tech Wabag was trading at Rs 1723, 31 per cent over issue price of Rs 1310 a share.
