Asia award: Pranab wins the best FM of 2010

New Delhi, oct 11: Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has won the best Finance Minister of the Year for Asia award, given by Emerging Markets, a government release said.

This year's award was based on nominations from public and private sector economists, analysts, bankers, investors and other experts.

This is the second time Pranab Mukherjee has been facilitated with the award. He was ranked as the best Finance Minister in the world in 1984 also.

The award was given by Emerging Markets, a part of the financial information Euromoney Institutional Investor plc. It is also a major daily newspaper of record for the World Bank and IMF.

Pranab Mukherjee, born on Dec 11, 1935, West Bengal, holds a Master of Arts degrees in History, Political Science and in law. He has a parliamentary career of nearly five decades.
