Delhi: Father kills son with hammer

New Delhi, Oct 11: A property dealer, Bhupender Singh was arrested by Delhi police for killing his seven-year-old son, Arpit Singh, with a hammer on Sunday, Oct 10.

According to police officers, Bhupender and his wife had a bitter argument over an extra-marital relationship, on Sunday, Oct 10, after which Bhupender murder his son Arpit Singh.

"Around 1:30pm, he picked up a hammer and hit Arpit on his head. The boy dropped down dead immediately. He was rushed to AIIMS where he was declared dead," a police officer said.

At the time of the incident, Arpit's 11-year-old sister and his mother were not in the room. Bhupender also reportedly suffers from alcoholism.

The police said the Bhupender Singh was later arrested while he was trying to flee the city. Now a case of murder has been filed.
