NE students to move Centre over border disputes

Guwahati, Oct 11: The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) and the All Arunachal Pradesh Students' Union (AAPSU) will jointly move the Government of India as well as the governments of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh to take effective steps for permanent solution of the inter-state boundary disputes.

The decision was taken at a meeting held by the North East Students' Organization (NESO) on Sunday, Oct 10.

Talking to The Assam Tribune NESO chairman Samujjal Bhattacharya said that the meeting held was to improve relation between the states of the regions. He said NESO would continue to put pressure on the Centre for permanent solution of the border disputes among all the states of the region.

Ensuring peace and harmony both the AASU and the AAPSU called the governments of Assam and Arunachal to cooperate with their plans and provide security personnel during the ongoing discussion with the States and Centre.
