Assam students protest Rahul's visit to Univ

Dibrugarh(Assam), Sep 24: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary, Rahul Gandhi who made a sudden visit to Dibrugarh University on Thursday, Sep 23 was marked with protest and wave of black flags by students.

The students' Union had announced to boycott Gandhi's interaction programme as they were not informed about his visit to their University. They were also offended at the fact that the Vice Chancellor Dr K K Deka had allegedly organised the programme on his own and had not consulted the recognised students" body of the University.

Lurinjyoti Gogoi, All Assam Students" Union (AASU) central executive member said, "Rahul Gandhi"s visit to the University was politically motivated, the student leader said educational institutions should not be used for political."
