After north India, wheat rots in MP

Food grain
Bhopal, Sep 17: As the nation battles with inflation, over 10,000 tonnes of wheat rots in a state warehousing corporation in Madhya Pradesh.

Sources say, it could have fed thousands, but the state government preferred to play politics blaming the central government for not taking a decision to distribute to the poor as directed by the Supreme Court.

The state warehousing corporation has blamed the Food Corporation of India for not picking up the stock on time. M K Mishra, Managar said, "55,000 tonnes of wheat was kept over here and this was meant to be a temporary storage. I wrote to the civil supplies department and the district collector to lift it before Jun 30 but no one listened to me."

The issue seems to be blaming one after the other without taking any action for implementation of food storage.
