Hindi to rock as computer language soon
The government has requested Indian and international IT giants to prioritise developing software that will facilitate its use on computers as easily as English.
The meeting of several IT giants was convened two days after the country celebrated Hindi Diwas on Sep 14.
On Sep 14, 1949, the language, Hindi was commemorated as the country's official language by the Constituent Assembly, set up to draft the country's constitution after independence.
The meeting was convened to examine a report on how information technology could facilitate the use of Hindi by the masses and in government offices, submitted by one of the three panels set up by Home Minister, Ajay Maken.
