Orissa: 38 dead in Cholera outbreak
The authorities have sent large quantity of medicines and disinfectants besides para-medics to KBK (Kalahandi-Balangir-Koraput) region to contain the water-borne diseases.
Similarly, the number of infected people in Rayagada district has increased to 660 and 102 villages have been affected, added the official.
As contaminated water was the main cause behind spread of diarrhoea and cholera in the KBK region, steps were taken to purify water sources including springs and ditches from where the tribals get drinking water.
