Mob attacks police post near Hazratbal in Srinagar
Srinagar, Sep 11 (ANI): Fresh violence erupted in Srinagar city on Saturday with a mob setting on fire a police barrack and damaging a vehicle of the police department outside the Harzratbal Shrine on the banks of the Dal lake here.
Police opened fire in the air to disperse the mob.
Soon after the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers a mob set ablaze a police post and damaged a police gypsy.
No casualties were, however, reported in the incident.
Meanwhile, All Parties Hurriyat Conference chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is leading a procession from Idgah to the Lal Chowk in the heart of Srinagar, and has called for a half-an-hour sit in protest in the heart of the city. (ANI)
