Maruti Suzuki to establish 3rd plant in India

Mumbai, Sep 8: India's leading car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) held its 29th annual meeting on Sep 7 in Mumbai with Mr O Suzuki, Chairman and CEO, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan.

At the meeting the following points were highlighted such as outline on current production capacity at Gurgaon and Manesar with total units of 1.2 million.

It is informed that Maruti Suzuki will establish “Plant C" at Manesar which will be ready by the end of fiscal 2012 and is expected to bring an additional capacity of 250,000 units per annum.

The investment to construct Plant C at Manesar is estimated at 35 Billion Japanese Yen (approx Rs. 1,925 crores).

The medium term investment will go up to Rs 6,000 Crores (or $ 1.3 billion) during the period 2010-2013.

The company will further undertake project like constructing Regional Offices at 16 locations.
