BJP delegation meets Prime Minister, discusses Kashmir situation
New Delhi, Sep.6 (ANI): A high-level Bharatiya Janata Party delegation, led by senior leader Lal Krishna Advani, called on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at his residence here on Monday and held discussions on the prevailing situation in Kashmir and the Enemy Property Bill.
"The delegation discussed Enemy Property Bill and Kashmir situation with the Prime Minister," said Advani after the meet held at Prime Minister's residence at 7, Race Course Road.
Besides Advani, the BJP delegation included Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, and Deputy Leader in Rajya Sabha S.S. Ahulwalia.
On Aug.31, the United Progressive Alliance government dropped the Enemy Property (Amendment and Validation) Bill in Lok Sabha after the Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Janata Dal accused the Govt. of working out a "deal with the BJP against Muslims" of the country.
Meanwhile, the over two month long unrest in different parts of the Kashmir valley has drawn attention of all political parties.
As many as 66 people have lost their lives in the ongoing unrest in the valley that started June 11. (ANI)
