Curfew lifted in majority of Kashmir valley

Violence in Kashmir valley
Srinagar, Aug 27: Educational institutions, banks, shops, and offices in the Kashmir valley opened on Friday, Aug 27 as curfew has lifted in majority of the region.

“Curfew imposed in several areas of the city on August 25 has been lifted. Accordingly, no curfew will remain imposed on August 27 in any part of the district," Srinagar, District Magistrate, Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo said.

As all modes of transport returned back to normalcy, traffic snarls were reported in several places as people were out to stock supplies.

However, curfew remained in place in Kupwara, Trehgam, Kralpora, Handwara, Chinkipora and Kulangam as authorities feared eruption of violence during Friday prayers.
