Nifty ends on a negative note

The Sensex shed about 150 points, pulled down by metal, financial, auto, realty, private power, capital goods, healthcare and select telecom companies' shares.
The Sensex closed at 18167, down 144 points and the Nifty was at 5456, down 49 points, as per provisional data.
Idea Cellular, Sterlite Ind, PNB, Reliance Power were among the top gainers with 4.06 percent, 1.02 percent, 0.69 percent, 0.68 percent up respectively.
Unitech, DLF, Tata Steel, Hindalco were among the top losers with 3.83 percent, 3.28 percent, 3.26 percent, 2.88 percent down respectively.

Nifty trades below 5500, Idea, Sterlite gain
Mumbai, Aug 25: Nifty was trading below 5500 mark with negative bias. The European markets also opened on red note.
Idea Cellular, Sterlite Industries, Siemens, NTPC and Ambuja Cements were gaining profit in trading.
At 2.30 hrs, BSE Sensex was 18,247.27 down 64.32 points and NSE Nifty was 5484.80 down 20.30 points.
The active in trading were Reliance, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and Tata Motors.
The top gainers were Idea Cellular up 3.17 percent, Reliance Power up 1.11 percent, Sterlite Industries up 1.05 percent and PNB up 0.94 percent.
The top losers were Unitech down 3.11 percent, Tata Steel down 3.07 percent, SAIL down 2.58 percent and DLF down 2.50 percent.

Trading continues on red note, metal, reality loss
Market continues trading on red note. The different Asian markets also witnessing loss. Taiwan Weighted lost 2.2 percent and Nikkei was down 2 percent. Shanghai and Kospi declined 1.3 percent each. Hang Seng was down 0.4 percent.
The metal, realty, financial, auto and private power companies' shares along with Bharti Airtel, BHEL, Reliance Communications and L&T were witnessing selling pressure.
TCS, Infosys, Reliance Industries, ONGC and NTPC along with FMCG and cement companies' shares were on gaining profit, which helped the market from severe loss.
At 12.30 hrs, BSE Sensex was 18,208.97 down 102.62 points and NSE Nifty was 5474.40 down 30.70 points.
The active in trading were Reliance, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and Tata Motors.
The top gainers were Idea Cellular up 1.84 percent, Sterlite Industries up 1.25 percent, Siemens up 0.98 percent and Ambuja Cements up 0.87 perecent.
The top losers were Tata Steel down 3.15 percent, Unitech down 3.11 percent, Hero Honda down 2.42 percent and DLF down 0.98 percent.

Market starts trading on negative note
The trading started on a flat note with mildly negative bias. The global cues were weak and the sensex shed about 98 points.
Sterlite Industries, DLF, Unitech, GAIL, Hindalco, SAIL, ICICI Bank, SBI, HDFC, L&T and Infosys were facing selling pressure in the market.
Cipla, Ranbaxy, BPCL, Sun Pharma, ITC and HUL were witnessing gain in early trade.
At 9.30 hrs, BSE Sensex was 18,303.84 down 7.75 points and NSE Nifty was 5499.25 down 5.85 points.
The active in trading were Reliance, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank and Sterlite Ind.
The top gainers were BPCL up 1.51 percent, Ambuja Cements up 1.20 precent, Idea Cellular up 0.88 percent and Siemens up 0.85 percent.
The top losers were Sterlite Industries down 1.15 percent, Tata Steel down 1.04 percent, DLF down 0.98 percent and Hindalco down 0.98 percent.
