Amaranth yatra started yet again

Jammu, Jul 22: Pilgrims had started journey once again to Amaranth in south Kashmir Himalayas on Thursday, Jul 22.

From the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar the fresh batch of 2,244 pilgrims had set out on 49 vehicles.

Despite heavy rainfall lashing wide parts of Jammu province, the pilgrims started their journey.

They are likely to reach at Baltal and Pahalgam by the evening on Jul 22 to undertake trekking towards the cave shrine located at 3,888 metres above sea level in south Kashmir.

Almost 60,000 pilgrims had left from Jammu so far to the cave shrine since the beginning of Amaranth yatra on Jun 30, 2010.
