Centre-Naga peace talks to resume on Jul 16

Kohima, Jul, 16: The next series of peace talks between the representatives from the Centre and leaders of NSCN (I-M) will be held in New Delhi on Friday, Jul 16 in order to find a negotiated settlement to the prolonged Naga political conflict.

Thuingaleng Muivah, NSCN (I-M) general secretary along with the senior activists of the group had left for New Delhi for attending the peace talks, informed the outfit sources.

Muivah had a one-and-a-half-month-long conversations regarding the matter, during the last public meeting at Jalukie in Peren district of Nagaland started in the first week of Jun, 2010. He, then had also visited various arts of Nagaland and held consultation with the people at grassroots level. He also called for the re-implement of the forget and forgive principle among Nagas, in order to have a unified voice to be presented before Centre.

Centre had last conducted a peace dialogue with NSCN (I-M) leaders at Kohima on Jun 1.
