Jagan begins Odarpu Yatra on YSR's birth anniv

Hyderabad, Jul 8: In a distinctive way to pay tribute to his father and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy on his birth anniversary, Congress MP Jagan Mohan Reddy began his Odarpu yatra from Srikakulam on Thursday, Jul 8.

The young MP from Kadapa began his yatra despite differences over the tour in Congress and the party chief Sonia Gandhi's reservations.

Incidentally, the defiance of Jagan reminds the people of Andhra Pradesh of the 2003 'padyatra' undertaken by YSR, which consequently led to him being elected as the Chief Minister in the next year.

Now, YSR's son undertakes the journey to console the families of the people, who committed suicide after the former CM's untimely death in a chopper crash in 2009.
