Viveka was depressed when I met her: 'Boyfriend'

Mumbai, Jun 28: Viveka Babajee's stock broker 'boyfriend', Gautham Vohra, pleaded innocence in the sessions court in Mumbai, where he filed a plea seeking anticipatory bail after police issued summons to him over the death of Viveka.

As per the latest TV news channel reports, Gautham claimed that he was not a Viveka's boyfriend and that they were only friends.

He has insisted that he has nothing to do with Viveka's death and that she was going through a rough patch.

"I am innocent...I am not the reason for her death," Vohra is quoted as saying in media reports.

"Met her on 24th June. We had a few drinks and she was smoking a lot...She was suffering from a bad patch in her life due to financial losses and troubled relationships and the death of her father...I asked her not to smoke and drink so much and left around 9 pm," he said while informing about what happened on Thursday, Jun 24.

Supermodel and former Miss Mauritius, Viveka committed suicide on Friday, Jun 25 and her body was recovered the next day.

Police concluded that Viveka's death was a suicide but when they found "you killed me Gautam Vohra" written in Viveka's diary the abetment to suicide angle cropped up.

"I never expected her to commit suicide," said Gautham, who told the court that had met the "already depressed" Viveka on the social networking website Facebook.

The Mumbai police has also said that it was too early to even dub Gautham as the accused.
