Honour killing again: Girls found dead in Sonipat
Chandigarh, Jun 27: Body of two minor girls were found thrown into a canal in Sonipat. The girls, Chanchal (14) and Raj Kumari (12) were murdered for having an affair with their counsins. The bodies of the girls were found on Friday, Jun 25.
Murder case was registered against the girls' grandmother, Vidya Devi and uncles, Suraj Varma and Chand Varma. They reportedly took the girls in a car on the pretext of visiting a relative and strangled them to death. They threw their bodies into the western Yamuna Canal near Badwasni village.
Sonipat SP Rajinder Singh said that the police was confused by the behaviour of Vidya's family members during their probe. The three accused confessed their crime to the police later.
The accused also said that the girls had physical relationship with their cousin, which compelled them to take the extreme step. Police is probing more about the murder.
