Perneet Kaur underlines need to bridge trust deficit between India-Pakistan
Amritsar, June 24 (ANI): Minister of State for External Affairs Perneet Kaur on Wednesday said that there is need to bridge the trust deficit between India and Pakistan.
While talking to ANI at the Rajasansi airport, Perneet Kaur said: "There is lot of cooperation needed between the two countries and the main purpose has, as has been said before, is to get the trust again to lay the foundation for further talks."
Kaur is in Amritsar to receive the Queens Baton Relay, similar to the Olympic Torch Relay, from Pakistan at the Wagah land border. It will reach here on Friday morning.
After having travelled in many countries, the Baton would be reaching India, prior to the beginning of the Commonwealth Games.
Kaur, however, appreciated the international sports event being organizing in India where sports persons from various countries are likely to participate.
"Sports do away with caste, creed and nationalities. I think if you have a sporting event it's the best way of dealing in human retaliationship," Kaur stated. By Ravinder Singh Robin (ANI)
