Eight Naxals killed in an encounter in WB
Midnapore, Jun 16: Eight naxals were killed in an encounter with a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force, the special anti-naxal force (SAF) and state police acting on a specific intelligence input in West Bengal.
The dead bodies of the naxal have been recovered from Saloboni village in Midnapore district of West Bengal. The deceased include three women. The encounter happened in Dhuli forest area under Salboni police station.
The encounter happened during Tuesday, Jun 15 night. Police officials recovered an AK-47, one pistol and five single barrel guns, informed a senior CRPF official. Some explosives have also been recovered. He added that the encounter may prolong.
The officear said that additional reinforcements from the state police and CRPF have been asked for.
