Maoists blow up bank in Bihar

Jamui (Bihar), June 15 (ANI): Armed Maoists blew up a bank and looted money from it in Bihar's Jamui District early on Tuesday.

According to sources, over 50 militants surrounded the Khadi Gram branch of State Bank of India (SBI) and detonated a dynamite to blow up the building.

They also looted 92,000 rupees.

A search operation has been launched to nab the militants.

This incident comes hours after Maoists ransacked Islampur railway station in Gaya district and abducted the station master and two other railway employees.

The Maoists are observing a 48-hour bandh in Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal. (ANI)
