AP: Rains lash E Godavari; river water level rises

Rajahmundry, Jun 15: Heavy rains lashed the East Godavari district leading to the rise in the water level of River Godavari.

Official sources informed that with the inflows from catchments areas reaching Godavari, the water level of the river has been rising since three days.

4,000 cusecs of water entered the river due to the heavy rains, the sources said. They, however, assured that there was no threat.

The state suffered the nature's fury when flash floods submerged several districts under water, displacing thousands and killing scores in 2009.
