Mukherjee to take stock of bank's performance on Credit Deposit Ratio
Patna (Bihar), June 14 (ANI): Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee will meet public sector banks chiefs in Patna on Monday and take stock of bank's performance on the Credit Deposit Ratio.
Chief Ministers of a few states, who have been raising concern over the poor credit deposit ratio, are also likely to attend the meeting.
It has been reported that their feedbacks would be taken into consideration for widening the reach of banking system in these states so that they can catch with the rest of the nation.
There are reports that the meeting would brainstorm on a host of issues, including enhancing credit flow for rural entrepreneurship, using banking network for the spread of the "aam admi bima yojana," providing incentives to employees to serve in Naxal-affected areas and improving bank credit flow to farmers.
Credit Deposit Ratio is the proportion of loan-assets created by banks from the deposits received. The higher the ratio, the higher the loan-assets created from deposits. (ANI)
