Bhopal victims request Obama to extradite Anderson
New Delhi, Jun 14: Bhopal gas tragedy victims have appealed to Barack Obama, US President requesting the extradition of Warren Anderson, the former Union Carbide Corp CEO to India.
Abdul Jabbar, the Convenor of Bhopal Gas Victims Women Forum said that the victims want Anderson, who lives in New York to be brought to justice. He said that the forum cannot concede with the US stand that Bhopal gas tragedy was India's 'internal' matter.
“We have also written a letter to US President Barack Obama appealing him to help us with this case," Jabbar said.
Bhopal gas victims are eagerly awaiting Obama's answer in this issue. United States had said that it would 'carefully evaluate' any request from India to bring Warren Anderson to justice.
