Mahinda Rajapaksa visits Shimla

Shimla, Jun 10: Mahinda Rajapaksa, Sri Lankan President arrived Shimla with his wife Shiranthi on Thursday, Jun 10.

Rajapaksa came to Shimla for his two-day visit after winding up the official meetings in New Delhi. The couple who arrived at Annandale Helipad by an Indian Air Force helicopter, were received by Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Dr Rajeev Bindal on behalf of the State Government.

The couple would stay at Chhabara in the Oberoi group's hotel Wild Flower Hall. Rajapaksa will attend the reception hosted by Governor Urmila Singh in the Barnes Court (Raj Bhavan) on Thursday, Jun 10 evening.

Rajapaksa would spend most of the time touring the grand buildings constructed in the British era, Barnes Court being the important one among them, at Shimla.
