Mkts down , selling noticed in realty, metal, IT

Mumbai, May, 31: At 12:30 hrs The Sensex was up 4.09 points or 0.02% at 16867.15, and the Nifty was down 3.40 points or 0.07% at 5063.15. The Sensex was trading with some volatility. Selling pressure was seen in realty, metal, IT, and capital goods stocks.

However, oil & gas, pharma and auto stocks were witnessing buying interest. Infosys, ICICI Bank, ITC, Sterlite Ind, SAIL and TCS were the negative contributors to the bourses.

Top gainers on the Sensex were ONGC at Rs 1,160.60 up 2.62%, M&M at Rs 558 up 2.38%, SBI at Rs 2,255 up 0.88%, HUL at Rs 237 up 0.66% and Reliance at Rs 1,040.10 up 0.60%.

Index heavyweight Reliance was trading at Rs 1,040.10 up 0.6% from its previous close of Rs 1,033.85.Tech major Infosys was trading at Rs 2,660.15 down 0.55% from its previous close of Rs 2,674.90.

Cigarette major ITC was trading at Rs 282.00 down 0.04% from its previous close of Rs 282.10.Refinery major HPCL was trading at Rs 364.65 up 2.11% from its previous close of Rs 357.10.

Mkts consolidate, moves up marginally

Mumbai , May 31: AT 10:00 hrs The BSE Sensex was trading at 16913, up 50 points and the Nifty was at 5073, up 7 points.The benchmark Sensex was consolidating and hovering around previous closing value.

Oil & gas, auto, FMCG, select banking and capital goods companies' shares were witnessing buying interest.However, technology, realty, metal and cement companies' shares were under pressure. HDFC Bank and Reliance Communications were other losers.

Suzlon Energy was the top loser on Nifty, as the company has reported FY10 loss of Rs 188 corer versus profit at Rs 314 corer. The stock lost 7.6%.
