PM condoles passing away of Samajwadi Party leader
New Delhi, May 24 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, has condoled the passing away of Samajwadi Party leader and Rajya Sabha member Virendra Bhatia.
Dr. Singh in his condolence letter to the late leader's wife Saroj Bhatia stated Virendra Bhatia worked against the odds to make his mark as a leading lawyer and was one committed to the cause of social justice.
Born in Sialkot in Pakistan, Bhatia became the Chairman of the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh and subsequently the Advocate General of the Uttar Pradesh Government.
The 63-year-old leader died here on Monday following a brief illness. (ANI)
