Cyclone' Laila' to hit Southern Andhra Pradesh
Chennai, May 19: The cyclone 'LAILA' which caused heavy rains in the coastal regions of Tamil Nadu is expected to hit the costs of Visakhapatnam and other parts of southern costal Andhra Pradesh by Thursday morning, May20.
Warnings have been issued to 9 districts of costal Andhra Pradesh. Some Parts of Tamil Nadu including Ongole, Tirupati are also under its influence causing heavy rains.
A high alert has been issued and revenue officials have started evacuating people from areas of Visakhapatnam, Krishna, West and East Godavari districts according to the official reports.
The officials said to meet the demands of any emergency they are ready with all precautionary measures including helicopters and boats in order to carry the rescue operations.

take
stock
of
the
situation
and
issued
required
directions
Moreover, a report suggests that around 120 relief centers have been set up in Krishna district. Around 15,000 quintals of rice, redgram, oil and kerosene have been stored in these centers.
