I have never offered to resign: Ramesh

New Delhi, May 13: Environment Minister, Jairam Ramesh refuted reports that he had offered to resign over his controversial remarks on China.

A TV news report quoted Ramesh as saying that he had never offered his resignation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The Congress too has denied receiving resignation offer from the Environment Minister, adding that such a move is unnecessary.

Ramesh's statement came just hours after it was reported that he had offered to quit over his criticism against India's policy on China during the global meeting on climate change in Beijing.
