Industrial production at 13.5 pc for Mar 2010

New Delhi, May 12: India posted lower-than-expected Industrial output numbers for Mar 2010 at 13.5 per cent as against the expected 15 per cent growth.

As per the government data released on Wednesday, May 12, manufacturing output surged 14.3 per cent in the month. Manufacting accounts for the majority of the industrial output measure.

Even though the numbers are lower than expected, the country has managed to post double digit index of industrial production (IIP) growth for the sixth consecutive month.
