BJP to decide on new J'khand CM on May 10
New Delhi, May 10: The name of the new Jharkhand new Chief Minister is expected to be known on Monday, May 10, as the party will hold its parliamentary board meeting in New Delhi to decide on the matter.
However, even as the party gears up for the meeting, it is said there are divisions among the members on choice of candidate for the post.
While party president Nitin Gadkari is said to be in favor of appointing Raghubar Das, who has been the Deputy Chief Minister in the Shibu Soren, as the Jharkhand chief minister, former party president Rajnath Singh is reportedly in favor of former chief minister Arjun Munda.
On Sunday, May 9, the party announced its decision to choose the next chief minister in parliamentary board meeting.
"A decision on who will be the next chief minister will be taken in the parliamentary board meeting tomorrow (Monday). The issue will be settled in that meeting," said party spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain had said.
