Bangalore, May 5: The confusion and chaos over the release of the Karnataka SSLC and PUC results seems to have finally come to end with reports confirming that both the results will be available on May 6.
The Class 10 exam or the SSLC results, which were expected to be out on Wednesday, May 5, will be made available to the students in the wee hours of Thursday, May 6.
The press briefing by director of Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board, MR MN Baig, will be held as per the schedule on Wednesday, May 5 at 5 pm. Mr Baig will be announcing the details over-all percentage, subject-wise performance, and the performance of the students across 31 districts of Karnataka.
The state Pre-University Education Board is also expected to declare the much-awaited second year PUC results on Thursday, May 6. The results shall be made available on the web soon after 6 pm on the same day.
Over eight lakh students appeared for the SSLC exams for the academic year, while over six lakh students took the PUC exams this year.
Therefore a total of 15 lakh students will be getting their results on the internet on the same day.
However, the uncertainty and confusion over the announcement of results has led to mental trauma for the young students and their parents over the past several weeks.
The SSLC results were first expected to be declared on May 20. The dates have now been advanced by 15 days.
The students can only hope that the undecidedness and lack of resolve on the part of the government and the education board authorities does not cause any further bedlam.
