JK: Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants killed

Jammu, Apr 24: A Hizbul Mujahideen commander and another militant were killed in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmi on Saturday, Apr 24.

The two militants were shot dead in an encounter gunbattle with security personnel, including police and 26 Rashtriya Rifles troopers.

The troops had launched a search operation in Manoi area of Gandoh tehsil after receiving a tip-off on Friday, Apr 23 evening.

While they were conducting the search operation, the militants reportedly fired at them trigerring off retaliation leading to a full-fledged gun battle.

Officials have identified the killed militants as Tanvir Ahmed, a self-styled commander and Ujjawar, who were both close associates of Hizbul divisional commander Shahdin alias Sabbir Shah.
