Pak rangers resort to unprovoked firing at border

Pathankot, Apr 19: In yet another incident of ceasefire violation, Pakistan rangers fired at Indian border post located along the International Border late on Sunday, Apr 18 night.

The unprovoked firing saw retaliation from the Indian Border Security Force (BSF).

The firing reportedly began at about 11 pm on Sunday, Apr 18 night at Simbal post in Bamial sector.

Speaking to a news agency, BSF officials at Gurdaspur informed that the firing lasted for about half hour.

No one was injured in the firing.

The incident, however, prompted the authorities to put the BSF on alert along the international border across Punjab and Rajasthan.

BSF officials are expected to take up this issue with the Pakistan rangers on Monday, Apr 19.

Over the past few months, there have been many incidents of unprovoked firing from Pakistan's side along the international border.
