Nifty ends flat; auto, oil & gas, FMCG down
Mumbai, Apr 13: The benchmark Nifty closed with modest losses after witnessing volatility throughout the session with negative bias.
The Sensex closed at 17822, down 30 points and the Nifty was at 5322, down 16 points, as per provisional data.
Auto, oil & gas exploration, FMCG, pharma, select metal and financial companies' shares kept the markets in negative terrain.
However,

Tata
Steel,
Reliance
Infrastructure,
HDFC
Bank,
PNB,
DLF
and
BPCL
witnessed
buying
interest
and
limited
the
losses
to
major
extent.

Sensex volatile in trade; RIL, SAIL down
At 12.41 pm, the Sensex was trading volatile within range of 100 points. It was a lacklustre session for the markets.
The Sensex was down 34.47 points or 0.19 pc at 17818.53, and the Nifty was down 16.65 points or 0.31 pc at 5323.05. About 1487 shares advanced, 1435 shares declined, and 317 shares were unchanged.
Buying was seen in telecom stocks as well. Auto stocks continued to reel under pressure. The BSE Midcap index was flat while the Smallcap index was trading in the green.
Top gainers in Nifty were IT heavyweights like TCS, Wipro, Infosys and HCL Tech were top gainers in the Nifty with 1-3 pc gain.

Nifty choppy; RIL, Hero Honda, SAIL dip
At 11.16 am, the Nifty was trading choppy with negative bias. The benchmark index was trading in a narrow band of 5300-5330.
The Sensex was down 16.75 points or 0.09 pc at 17836.25, and the Nifty was down 11.75 points or 0.22 pc at 5327.95.
About 1529 shares advanced, 1382 shares declined, and 328 shares were unchanged.
Fresh buying in IT stocks like Infosys, TCS and Wipro was helping the markets to pullback from the day's low.
Selling was seen in auto, banks, oil&gas and metal stocks. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap index were trading in green.
In the largecap space, Wipro, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, TCS and Bharti Airtel were up 1-2 pc.

more
than
3.6
pc
loss.

Sensex choppy in early trade; TCS, HCL dip
The Sensex edged lower in choppy trade early on Tuesday, Apr 13, with financials leading the decline.
At 9:03 am, the Sensex was trading at 17808, down 44 points and the Nifty was at 5324, down 15 points.
About 514 shares advanced while 360 shares declined on the NSE.
Among the frontliners, Hero Honda, TCS, HCL Tech, Cairn, SAIL, Tata Steel and Sterlite Industries were losers while BHEL and Wipro were gainers in early trade.
Overall,
the
markets
continued
its
consolidation
phase
due
to
lack
of
global
cues.
Asian
markets
were
mixed
in
trade
while
the
US
markets
were
flat
on
Monday.
