Inquiry ordered into Lalu's Patna zoo visit

Patna, Apr 9: RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav has courted trouble once again. His recent visit to Patna Zoo with his security guards carrying sophisticated weapons has prompted the authorities to order an inquiry by a Forest Ranger.

"Forest Ranger Shashibushan Prasad has begun an investigation and would submit the report in a week," Director of Patna Zoo Abhay Kumar said in a news agency report on Friday, Apr 9.

On Wednesday, Apr 7, the RJD chief entered the zoo with his armed security guards to offer prayers at temple inside the zoo, leading to Kumar calling for an inquiry.

"The guards of the zoo have also been asked to explain why they allowed Prasad's security personnel to enter the zoo with weapons," Kumar said.

Kumar said that entry of weapons were banned inside the zoo to ensure the safety of animals.

"It is an administrative order being followed by all who use to visit the zoo for the safety of animals and environment."

"We have approached the state government to issue strict directives to VIPs with Z-plus security to follow the administrative order," he said.
