Maoist attack moves BJP to stand by & support govt
New Delhi, Apr 6: Terming the brutal attack launched by Maoists on the CRPF jawans as an attempt to tear down the democracy of India, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came out in complete support of the government in its fight against red terror.
"We stand by the government. We stand by the state government. We stand by all the forces against the Naxals," Rajiv Pratap Rudy said in a press conference on the Maoist attack, which took place on Tuesday, Apr 6 in the Mukrana forests of the Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh.
Rudy added that there is no time for debate and discussion over the matter of terrorism growing on the Indian soil and said that the government should strike them hard right now.
Earlier, as many as 73 CRPF jawans were killed in a savage Maoist attack. The personnel were part of the Operation Green Hunt, an offensive launched by the government to counter the growing Maoist menace.
“The casualty is very high and I am deeply shocked at the loss of lives. This shows the savage nature of CPI(Maoist) and their brutality and the savagery they are capable of," said Home Minister P Chidambaram in response to the attack.
