Modi likely to appear before SIT on Mar 27
Ahmedabad, Mar 27: After much controversy, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is all set to appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the post-Godhra riots cases, on Saturday, Mar 27.
Government sources said that Modi may not be questioned at the SIT's office at old secretariat campus in Gandhinagar because of security reason.
The date for questioning was confirmed by Mahesh Jethmalani, stating that Mar 27 as the date for questioning was mutually agreed upon by both the parties.
On Mar 21, Modi failed to turn up for questioning, despite SIT's summon against him, following a petition filed by Zakia Jaffery, widow of former Congress MP Eshan Jaffery, who was killed in Gulburg Society riot in 2002 along with 69 others.
In his defence, Modi said that he had never received a summon from SIT, adding that it was one of the conspiracies to malign him.
