Food inflation eases, but fuel inflation soars

New Delhi, Mar 18: For the week ended Mar 6, fuel inflation came up at 12.68 per cent while food inflation eased a bit to 16.30 per cent.

Food inflation's marginal fall was lead by the easing prices of pulses and vegetables. Whle vegetables fell 10 per cent, prices of the pulses eased up by 4 per cent.

Even though the food inflation has eased the fuel inflation continues to plague the overall inflation rate.

For the week ended Feb 27, food inflation came up at 17.81 per cent while fuel inflation was at 11.38 per cent.
